A narrative (1 page maximum) that articulates why you are applying to this program and how this is beneficial to your nursing program and career. The program is located in Miami at HCA- Florida Kendall Hospital, a 447-bed acute care hospital that provides compassionate care to meet the needs of patients, families, and the diverse community of the Miami area. The Cohort Pilot Program allows 8 students to apply and be selected for a continuous clinical experience with HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. Selected students will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the hospital's policies and procedures, network with staff and administration, and deepen their understanding of the clinical environment. Students will be enrolled in their clinical rotations at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital throughout the nursing program, starting in Fall II 2024 with the NURS121L-A course (Introduction to Medical-Surgical Nursing), and potentially participate in a precepted experience at the hospital. For rotations not offered at this hospital, students will submit preferences and be assigned placements through the usual process, returning to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital for subsequent rotations as available.
