Effective leadership has been defined as the power and success of senior executives to advance a company towards performance excellence (Jamaludin, Rahman, Makhbul, & Idris, 2011). Successful leaders traditionally have been defined by financial indicators such as market share, profit, revenue, shareholder dividends, and return of investments (Latham, 2014). Evidence to Justify the Study What is the purpose of the study? Why is this topic deserving of thorough research, analysis, and recommendations? What are the potential benefits? Cresswell (2009) suggested focusing on the deficiencies found in the research. These deficiencies provide the evidence why the selected problem is a viable research study (Cresswell, 2009). Your research must provide justification to support the study. Research Questions - Optional This section must be stated clearly and concisely stated. This section is optional. However, this section if you choose to complete will help you with determining the research needed for the project. Remove this section if you do not plan to use. Definition of Terms This section provides definitions of terms that may be uncommon to others, meaning the terms could be specialized words and vocabulary. For example, terms such as spirituality and religion have various definitions which could cause confusion. Clarifying these terms would ensure those reading the report would clearly understand the meaning of these terms as they pertain to the project. Below are some examples. Membership . Spiritual leadership values reflecting membership include teaming, service, acting for the greater good, and making people the priority (Badrinarayan, 2009). Workplace spirituality. Workplace spirituality is referred to as organizational spirituality, spiritual leadership, and spirituality. These terms are used interchangeably. Workplace spirituality ascribes to employees’ viewing their work as a spiritual journey to personally and professionally grow by giving back to society in a meaningful way, and living their lives based on spiritual attributes such as love, compassion, humility, sympathy, caring, empowerment, forthrightness, honesty, self-control, and faith (Nicolae, Ion, & Nicolae, 2013). Be specific in answering what, why, how and by whom for each recommendation. Suggestion, conduct a solutions selection matrix presenting the basis or foundation for the final analysis. This information can also be taken from Section 3 such as if the Return of Investment is greater this would be evidence why the recommended solution was selected for implementation. Finally, wrap up the paper with a conclusion that summarizes how the recommendations will resolve the project’s problem/issue.
