This paper articulates a nursing theory that will guide my practice, establishes specific goals and objectives aligned with my practicum, and outlines a timeline for my activities to maximize learning and competency development during this course.

Selecting a Nursing Theory

For my practicum, I have chosen Betty Neuman's Systems Model as the guiding framework for my practice. Neuman's Theory emphasizes a holistic approach, considering the patient as a complete system influenced by various internal and external stressors (Neuman & Fawcett, 2011). The model underscores the importance of preventive care and promotes resilience and wellness. Its emphasis on holistic assessment aligns well with the roles of advanced practice nurses in preventive health, health promotion, and disease management.
