To influence my leadership style and develop essential skills, I will draw upon evidence-based frameworks such as transformational and servant leadership models. Transformational leadership emphasizes inspiring and motivating staff, which is vital in social work settings characterized by complex client needs (Bass & Avolio, 1994). Servant leadership prioritizes serving others and fostering community-oriented environments (Greenleaf, 1977). By integrating these approaches, I can cultivate a leadership style rooted in empathy, empowerment, and ethical practice, which aligns with social work values.

Despite the wealth of research, there are gaps that necessitate further investigation. First, more evidence is needed on effective strategies for leading multicultural teams in social work agencies, considering increasing diversity and cultural competence (Sue et al., 2009). Second, research should address how leadership impacts staff burnout and retention, especially during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic (Cummings et al., 2018).
