This assignment consists of two (2) sections: a narrative and a PowerPoint presentation. You must submit two (2) files, each labeled according to its section. Imagine that you have just been hired by a new company as the HR department director. You have been tasked with hiring a new secretary and developing an employee compensation and benefits package for that position.

Develop a PowerPoint presentation to present this information to your Vice President. Refer to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) website to gather information regarding organizational pay and benefits in your geographical area.

Section 1: Narrative

Write a two to three (2-3) page paper in which you:

  • Choose the type of organization for which you are designing the compensation and benefits package.
  • Develop an employee compensation and benefits package for the new secretary position, supporting your choices with appropriate rationale.
  • Utilize at least three (3) credible academic sources to support your package design. Note that Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify as academic resources.

The narrative must follow these formatting guidelines:

  • Typed, double-spaced, in Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
  • Include a cover page with the assignment title, your name, professor’s name, course name, and date. The cover page and reference page are excluded from the page count.
  • Follow APA formatting for citations and references.

Section 2: PowerPoint Presentation

Create a twenty (20) slide PowerPoint presentation that includes the following:

  • An overview of the compensation and benefits package developed in the narrative.
  • Determine if the employee will be classified as exempt or nonexempt, and discuss how overtime will be managed.
  • Suggest additional benefits to consider in the upcoming months to enhance employee motivation and performance.
  • Address how government regulations will influence the compensation package.
  • Analyze data from two (2) organizations listed on the BLS website with similar compensation packages, focusing on salary, benefits, and overall compensation to justify your package’s competitiveness.
  • Explain how the proposed compensation and benefits package aligns with the organization's human resource management (HRM) strategy.

The presentation should be clear, concise, and visually engaging. Incorporate proper visuals, charts, or graphs where appropriate to support your points.
