When I started my high school studies, I found myself very passionate about buildings and bridges. I was always asking my parents how engineers build buildings and bridges over sea without any failure. As I was about to graduate from high school, I decided to pursue my post-secondary education in an area that aligns my passion for design with a prosperous career direction. Therefore, I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Umm Al-Qura University, Saudi Arabia and graduated with strong standing in 2013. Throughout my studies, I had chance to take course in construction engineering and management, structural analysis, concrete technology, soil mechanics, design of concrete structure, design of steel structure, transportations and roadway design.

In fact, I enjoyed to take all these courses especially construction engineering and management course. I was feeling so happy when I attend construction engineering and management classes and I was always trying to attend additional classes to get more and more information. Moreover, I feel my country Saudi Arabia needs engineers who have this kind of specialization because there are a lot of government engineering projects delay. I believe that one of the important solution to fix this problem is the government should participate engineers who have this specialization to overcome the problem. In fact, for these reasons I would like to study Master’s Degree in construction management in order to protect our projects and participate to improve my country and society.

As well, the group projects and assignments helped me develop strong team working and interpersonal skills while learning how to use various software and applications in design, analysis, planning and review. Upon graduation, I had chance to work for one year and practice my freshly acquired knowledge. I worked as a site engineer in The Holy Haram Expansion Project in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. I got a lot of experience during that time such as work with team work and how to fix the problems that face engineer during construction work. Then in 2014, I decided to travel abroad for further education and to gain an international experience.

The first step was to focus on improving my English language skills through the enrollment at the ELS Language Center in San Francisco, California, which offers extensive essay writing, reading comprehension and verbal communication practice that helped me advance my language skills to a level adequate for graduate studies. In fact, I took researcher paper class at that time and my topic was Causes for the Delay of Government Engineering Projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
