CadLab 8 covers two skills: creation of dimensions, and creation of layouts using viewports. Chapter 13 covers dimensioning, including standards of practice for showing dimension lines, and how to format DIMSTYLE and Line Settings. Chapter 14 covers creating layouts and viewports, including setting viewport scales and using PSLTSCALE. The assignment involves completing exercises from these chapters to develop skills necessary for project completion. Students are instructed to open specific drawings, complete given projects, modify layouts with viewports, set scales, create scale bars, prepare drawings for plotting, and email their final files with specific subject lines. Additionally, students will create an 11x17 layout called 'LEDGER,' insert title blocks scaled appropriately, set viewport scales, and make necessary plotting adjustments including color table modifications. The final deliverables include plotted hard copies and emailed CAD drawings.
