Technical challenges also exist, particularly regarding implementing advanced safety technologies such as real-time monitoring systems, sensors, and automation to prevent accidents (Zhao et al., 2021). Integrating new technologies requires training, adaptation, and often overcoming resistance from workers and managers used to traditional methods.
While OSHA standards are foundational, relying solely on compliance does not guarantee a safe working environment. Organizations should go beyond compliance by adopting best practices, fostering a safety-oriented mindset, providing ongoing training, and encouraging open communication regarding hazards and safety concerns.
