In this paper, I will select one of the two provided assignments related to time management skills discussed in the Module 1 video, "Time Management Fundamentals" by Crenshaw (2018). The focus will be on either the assignment involving the identification of Most Valuable Activities (MVAs) or the one involving Mental Triggers and Gathering Points, based on my personal relevance and which I find most beneficial for my academic growth.

Option 1: Identifying Most Valuable Activities (MVA)

Choosing the first assignment, I will detail the significance of various time management terms from the provided glossary, aligning them with my personal understanding and practical application. I will then list my current work activities as identified on the worksheet, highlighting the time I dedicate to each task. Next, I will identify my two MVAs—activities I consider most valuable—and provide a brief explanation of why these are critical to my academic and personal success. Additionally, I will discuss my plan for budgeting time for these MVAs, ensuring my schedule aligns with my priorities. Finally, I will reflect on a key takeaway from the video training that I plan to implement throughout my educational journey, emphasizing continuous improvement and effective time management.

Option 2: Mental Triggers Worksheet

Alternatively, if I choose the second assignment, I will analyze my mental triggers—automatic responses that divert my focus or cause distractions—by listing them as per the Mental Triggers Worksheet. I will also record the number of Gathering Points identified in my total box from the "Gathering Points" worksheet, as well as my Target Total, which represents my productivity goal. I will outline my strategy to reach this Target Total, including specific actions or adjustments to my daily routine. Additionally, I will share a key insight from the course that I intend to apply consistently throughout my studies, aiming to enhance my focus and productivity by minimizing switch tasking and managing mental triggers effectively.

Conclusion

After careful consideration of both options, I have chosen to focus on the assignment related to the Identification of Most Valuable Activities (Option 1), as I believe aligning my time with my most valuable activities will significantly improve my academic performance and overall productivity. This selection allows me to reflect on my current priorities, develop actionable plans for time management, and incorporate practical strategies from Crenshaw’s foundational course, thereby fostering lifelong skills beneficial beyond my education.
