A robust plan provides clarity on objectives, target markets, competitive positioning, and operational pathways, thereby increasing the likelihood of successful expansion (Cavusgil et al., 2014). Adherence to this plan ensures consistency and strategic focus, which are critical when navigating unfamiliar terrains and competition.

Two best practices that companies should adopt when expanding internationally include conducting thorough market research and establishing culturally aware communication channels. First, comprehensive market research helps a company understand local customer preferences, economic conditions, legal requirements, and competitive landscapes.
