Statement of the problem Poor performance in sports can be discouraging and can create a bad experience for athletes. Most of the failures is due to poor habits, more so the thinking habits which can be hard to break (Hau, 2017). When an athlete is stressed or has depression, the likelihood of not winning is high due to negative thinking. Distractions in athletics lead to negative thoughts which lead to failure and/or bad performance.
