It allows us to ponder not only that which is obvious to our senses, but all layers of the event, even to the possible intangibles. At least three (3) of the following aspects of the event, should be used for the best possible grade: physical [injuries, death], emotional [fear, loneliness, helplessness, etc.], spiritual [corporate worship, individual], environmental [human diversity, structures, access, etc.], various obligations [school, work, family care, etc.], and financial Options 1 or 2 are available for the reflection assignment: Option 1: Recollect a disaster or mass casualty incident that personally affected you (i.e., you, your family, or friends). If this is too painful, choose Option 2. Option 2: If it never occurred in your life, consider a disaster or mass casualty incident you are aware of through media or news reports. You may include recent or past events by reviewing reports. You must respond to all six points below and include at least three of the aspects mentioned in the overview. 1. Describe what happened. 2. Share your thoughts and feelings as you experienced the situation (actual or vicarious). 3. Identify three or more aspects that emerged during the event (refer to the overview). 4. What did you learn about yourself or about those directly affected? 5. Why was the experience important to you? 6. Suggest one thing that could be helpful to those involved in the experience. Directions: This discussion forum (DF) is different from previous assignments; references are not required unless applicable. Focus on clear sentence construction, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and thorough responses to the six points. Incorporate at least three aspects from the overview. Personal reflections do not require citations unless referencing others' ideas. Your response should be typed or pasted directly into the thread, max 400 words, double-spaced, no file uploads.
