Organizational communication, to my understanding, is the structured process through which information, ideas, and meaning are exchanged among members within an organization to achieve shared goals and ensure effective functioning. This process involves the transmission of messages through various channels—verbal, non-verbal, written, and digital—that are interpreted and responded to by members, fostering coordination, collaboration, and a shared organizational culture. My definition is rooted in the belief that effective communication within organizations is vital for decision-making, conflict resolution, motivation, and overall organizational success.

Based on my experience and the insights from Brewer and Westerman (2018), I see organizational communication as a dynamic and multifaceted system that encompasses formal structures such as policies and procedures, as well as informal interactions like conversations and social exchanges. It is not merely the transmission of information but involves understanding, interpretation, and the creation of meaning, which collectively influence the organization's environment and performance.

It is significant to note that organizational communication extends beyond simple exchanges; it shapes organizational identity, influences power relationships, and impacts employee engagement.
