ECOM1000 – Project Part 2: Final Report And Analytics
ECOM1000 – Project Part 2: Final Report ECOM1000: Analytics for Decision Making
The country representatives have accepted your proposal. Please go ahead with carrying out the activities/tasks mentioned in the proposal (part 1). In addition to the activities stated in part 1, the representatives would also like you to include the following items in your report:
- Explore the relationship across a pair of different aspects of the country over time. For example, is there a relationship between the population and the environment indicators over time? Can this relationship be quantified? Your choice of aspects could be influenced by the available data.
- Construct a confidence interval for one of the aspects. State all assumptions clearly and provide an interpretation of the interval.
- Identify any legal or privacy issues with the data used in the report. Provide details or justification.
The three requests above must be incorporated into the methodology section, i.e., update the methodology section from part 1. As before, the analysis should apply knowledge from the unit modules to address these requests.
A key component of the final report is the results of the analysis. You are expected to produce a dashboard using the data for your country. The dashboard should include various plots such as time series, scatter plots, histograms, box plots, and cumulative percentage charts, ensuring the plot types are well matched with the data. Additionally, include numerical data summaries and analysis related to the first two requests. A brief commentary on all plots and results is essential, showing insights based on content covered in the unit.
The final report should contain the following components:
- Title page – updated from part 1
- Cover letter – updated from part 1, including an explicit statement about the report’s content and any changes since the original proposal
- Tables of contents – updated from part 1
- Executive summary – a concise summary (0.75 to 1 page) of the report’s content, written after completing all other sections, excluding plots or tables
- Introduction – updated from part 1, covering the motivation and purpose, now including the new requests
- Methodology – updated from part 1, detailing how the three new requests are addressed, including assumptions and data limitations
- Results – organized presentation of analysis, including plots, numerical summaries, and commentary as per the first two requests
- Conclusion & Recommendations – summarizing main findings, proposing practical recommendations, and suggesting future work feasible with more resources
- References – updated from part 1, formatted in Chicago style, listing all data sources and references used
- Project timeline – updated from part 1, detailing completed activities and durations
- Appendix – including the original proposal submission from part 1
Note that the word limit for the report is 2100 words, excluding the title page, cover letter, table of contents, references, timeline, and appendix.
