Educational expectations Mable Finnie Northcentral University My professional and educational journey can be rated as highly successful where I have been scoring impressive points at every level. I have basic knowledge of the scientific discipline of psychology and have had numerous opportunities for its practice at school and have gained a lot of experience. This is because I was one of the peer guiding and counseling members and together with my educators; we helped a number of fellow students who had many challenges in their studies, their parents, relationships and even life in general. Through these arrangements I got to understand myself and others and that’s where my interest of studying this course developed.

My area of professional interest is counseling psychology which is one of the psychological specificity that consists of research and applied work in various domains that include counseling processes and its outcome, supervising and training, development of careers, prevention and health. All students normally hold high expectations in life and have visions of living a more better and improved quality of life. Critically looking at my goals, I expect to work extra hard in my studies so that I get the best grades which will propel my profession in the next five years to greater heights. After five years from now, I believe that I will be more confident and experienced both in person and in my profession as a guiding and counseling expert.

I would like to continue helping people make the best decisions about their lives. If I will be employed at that time I hope to work smart and be a great contribution to the organization. I will strive to always earn respect and have my own identity with the people I associate with in life and also at work. I believe that my education at North central is fitting into my overall personal and professional development plans and goals because it has departments which highly emphasize excellence in teaching and active student involvement especially in scientific empirical surveys which is vital for this profession. Their courses promote good practices like critical thinking which is critical in this profession.

The university also values ethics which are highly vital in my profession and as soon as I start practicing them during my course, the better I will be in my profession. Being trained of time management is also a very important aspect when driving myself to meet my goals in life. My education at North central University is perfectly fitting into my overall personal and professional development plans and goals. This is because their degree program in this field is designed to encourage flexibility and exploration in the same field as well as other disciplines. They also have impressive facilities and an ultimate learning environment which is pertinent in producing good results in students like me.

Some of the questions I have include: 1. I believe that every student admitted to this institution has the ability to be a high performer and achieve the best grades and be competent in his/her profession. However, there are those who might not meet their academic goals as planned earlier. Do they have follow up programs for such students? And how do they pick such students from the rest of the crowd? 2. Does the institution consider other areas of excellence apart from academic achievements in class? For example do they look at extra curriculum activities as much of importance as academic achievements?
