URL CREATING A MARKETING RESEARCH PLAN 5 Creating a Marketing Research Plan Enrique Primas Saint Leo University Creating a Marketing Research Plan: Bag & Tag Laundry Service Identify TWO business problems In a normal business, every person needs to be at the top of the market. However, there might be some of the problems that might hinder a business from toping in the market. These problems can also lead to the fall of the business hence discouraging the inventors of the business. Therefore it is very important to create a market research plan incorporated with the whole business plan to ensure that the business does not have any problems. In this project, some of the problems that a bag and tag laundry service is likely to experience are; lack of customers. In this type of business, it might be difficult to locate a place where most people will come to bring their clothes for the laundry. Therefore, the marketing research will help in ensuring that the place of the business is at a strategic position to lore more customers (Pagadala, Gupta, 2018). The second problem is how I will deal with the technical problems of a laundry machine. Business problems to research questions In the conversion of the problems into a question, first and foremost, we have; what are some of the issues will I run into I do not get enough customers in the business? Is it good if I employ a person who walks in people's doors looking for customers? Secondly, what if the laundry machine has a technical problem and it interferes with the product of the customer? How will I pay this customer? How will I get a technician to look for the machine? Is it good if I employ a technician just in case there is a problem he/she will be readily available? This research project will allow me to learn how a bag and tag laundry service can be done successfully without collapsing. Targeted customers and the sampling method In this project, the targeted customers are the people who need the laundry services within the locality area of residence. Other than that anybody from a different town who needs the services can still be a customer. It will be very easy for the customers to bring their products since most of the targeted customers are very busy such that they cannot do the laundry services at home alone. On selecting the population, subjects, mainly adults, will be selected and asked questions based on the project. The best sampling method to be used is random since it is very simple. Select which type of research will work best for our question The best research technique to be used in this project is the questionnaire. On the other hand, I will use the internet as a secondary source to help me get the rightful information. From the sample hat will be selected, all will be asked the same questions so that we can arrive at a perfect conclusion. The Internet as a secondary source will be very helpful since it can help in sourcing the correct data for the research problems (Kemilà¤inen, 2018). Lastly, we will employ qualitative research to know how to go about research problems. Memo To: From: First and foremost, I thank the bag and tag laundry service management foe giving me the opportunity to solve the problems in the business. Following the research conducted and the responses that I got from different customers, I realized some of the problems that are likely to be seen in the business and if the problems are well sorted out, all customers will be satisfied and the business will run smoothly. I also found it important to recruit a certain employee who walks door to door of the customers asking for ones who need the services and this will really market the business to the customers. It will also give customers an easy time as we will still be delivered back to them. Regards How can you make your report accurate yet easy to understand ? For us to ensure that the report is very accurate the collected data should be accurate and that is why the questions are the same so that the data is consistent and accurate. The collected data should also be reviewed before its final reporting. References Kemilà¤inen, T. (2018). Marketing Plan for Tassuklaani Oy. Pagadala, A., & Gupta, R. (2018). Misunderstandings Outsiders have about the U.S.A. Comment by Microsoft Office User: Center this! There are a lot of misunderstandings between individuals outside of living in the United States of America. Many of them see it as a quality of life upgrade, while some see it as a war front. Comment by Microsoft Office User: Um, WHERE is your introductory paragraph that concludes with a thesis statement? Firstly, most people know little about the U.S. through the internet and cable news, a friend of mine who has a U.S. visa once told me that everyone in the U.S. has a gun and is walking the street with it, and he backed it up with facts from some news outlets claiming that in 2020 alone more than 8 million guns were sold, he said he doubts if he ever would come over. It truly was an alarming figure to understand. All I could say to him was that since I got here, I haven't seen a gun from any civilian, and that it's still safe. Comment by Microsoft Office User: Avoid this signal word. Use the models I provided. Comment by Microsoft Office User: CS Comment by Microsoft Office User: CS Comment by Microsoft Office User: CS Comment by Microsoft Office User: Good job using personal examples to explain the misunderstanding! You did not support that particular topic sentence, though. You just jumped right into your example. And I hate to have to tell you this, but those figures are probably accurate. Post-COVID, the numbers of gun sales are actually much higher. More people carry than you realize! Another misconception they have is about the economy. Everybody thinks that America is heaven on earth where everyone is financially buoyant. The fact that a dollar is about 400 times higher than Naira makes it possible for outsiders to see the USA as gold. Failure to think about what American money takes, such as rent, insurance, utility bills, and bills of repair, makes it a complete misconception. When they hear a person earn 1500 a week, they go into instant conversion to naira; consequently, they label such an earner "a millionaire" because of the financial strength of the dollar, it's a misunderstanding they will not understand. Comment by Microsoft Office User: Who is everybody? Comment by Microsoft Office User: Where is that from? Comment by Microsoft Office User: Truth. They don’t see how far a dollar gets a person in the U.S. You can’t even buy a drink with a dollar! Lastly, most people in other countries think Americans are arrogant, loud and like the president always wants to control everything. A lot of my Ukrainian friends said they didn't like the presence of an average American when I was in Ukraine, because they didn't feel comfortable around them. It was easy for them to say. However, when we were transferred to an English hostel where we met a lot of American students, the impression shifted. After that semester, they concluded Americans are one of the coolest people to be around with. Comment by Microsoft Office User: Ahhhh, that’s somewhat true as well! We have our pockets of ignorance, for sure! Comment by Microsoft Office User: When were you in the Ukraine? In summary, most people tend to have some misunderstandings about what they don’t know. Whenever I hear people talk about places they don’t know, I urge them to read a lot more on them before concluding, or better still, take a trip to the place and have a better understanding. Creating an effective marketing research plan is essential for any business seeking to identify challenges and capitalize on opportunities within its market. This process involves systematic gathering, analysis, and application of data to inform strategic decisions. This paper will explore how to develop a marketing research plan tailored to a small laundry service business, specifically targeting the problems of customer acquisition and equipment management, illustrating the importance of targeted research, appropriate methodologies, and accurate data collection.
The first step in crafting a marketing research plan for the Bag & Tag Laundry Service involves identifying core business problems. The primary challenge faced by the business is attracting a sufficient customer base. In a competitive environment, locating a strategic and accessible location is critical. The research will focus on determining the optimal location that maximizes visibility and customer footfall, thereby increasing patronage and revenue. Additionally, understanding customer preferences and behaviors through demographic and psychographic analysis will allow the business to tailor its marketing efforts effectively (Pagadala & Gupta, 2018). The second major issue concerns operational reliability, notably technical problems with laundry machines which could impact service quality and customer satisfaction.
Transforming these problems into research questions is vital. For example, "What are the most effective strategies to attract more customers to the laundry service?" and "How can the business ensure quick and cost-effective repairs for laundry equipment?" These questions guide the research process by focusing on actionable insights. To answer them, the research will employ primarily quantitative methods such as surveys and questionnaires distributed to targeted customers in the locality. The sampling will be random, encompassing adults who are potential or current customers of the laundry service, to ensure representativeness and unbiased data collection (Kemilaäinen, 2018).
The choice of research methodology is crucial. The questionnaire will solicit information about customer preferences, frequency of laundry service usage, and the likelihood of choosing a particular laundry location. Additionally, secondary data sources, including industry reports and online resources, will supplement primary data, providing broader market insights and benchmarking figures. Qualitative methods, such as interviews or focus groups, can further clarify customer perceptions and expectations. Combining these approaches ensures a comprehensive understanding of the market environment and operational challenges.
In conducting the research, accuracy and clarity are paramount. Consistent questions among respondents help ensure data reliability, while thorough review and validation of collected data minimize errors. The insights gained from this research will guide strategic decisions—such as choosing a location that maximizes customer access and establishing a maintenance plan for laundry equipment—that ultimately support business growth and customer satisfaction.
