Executive Summary Introduction Since I have a been young my
Since I have been young, my goal was to always work in the business field. I chose the business administration field for several reasons. One of the main reasons I chose business administration was to understand all the aspects of business. I needed to learn first how to start a business plan and then how to develop on top of that business plan. I have always wanted to be inside the business world but I wanted to learn every aspect of business, which is why I chose to pursue business administration.
This degree has shown me many other areas in business that I never even thought about, such as the laws I need to follow in order to keep the business running. I learned a large amount about marketing as well; business goes much deeper than just showing a commercial on TV. There is a lot of planning behind putting a commercial together or an ad.
A brief description of the classes that I took includes marketing, human resources, accounting, critical thinking, data analysis, business management, and entrepreneurial classes. Marketing has shown me how to understand how consumers think and what attracts customers. Human resources has revealed key aspects such as managing employee benefits, payroll, and their sensitive information.
Accounting was one of my favorite classes as it taught me how to account for every dollar that goes in and out of a business. I learned how to use a general ledger and perform accounting tasks on Excel as well. Critical thinking opened my eyes to thinking outside the box. I learned that while everyone thinks differently, there can be identifiable patterns.
Data analysis has shown me how to model and inspect data. It also taught me how to find useful information within datasets. Business management was another great class, showing me how to run a business both from a managerial role and as a business owner. There are many things to consider while managing a business.
Overall, the program has provided me insight into the business world, and I am always willing to learn more. Now that I understand all the concepts in business because of my business administration degree with a concentration in general business, I know that I will be an asset to any business due to the excellent classes that have prepared me for this field. I also plan to continue my education and pursue a master’s in business administration.

This decision stemmed from a desire not only to comprehend the foundational elements of business but to gain insight into the diverse aspects that govern successful enterprises. In today's fast-paced and dynamic business environment, understanding how to formulate and execute a business plan is paramount. Subsequently, my education has equipped me to delve deeper into business development, ensuring I am prepared to tackle challenges in any business setting.
The business administration program provided a comprehensive overview of essential subjects, including marketing, human resources, accounting, critical thinking, data analysis, business management, and entrepreneurship. Each course contributed to a holistic understanding of how businesses operate and thrive. For instance, the marketing class illuminated the intricate psychology behind consumer behavior. It taught me that creating successful advertisements requires meticulous planning and an understanding of what captures the audience's attention, rather than a simplistic approach of merely airing commercials on television.
Human resources was another pivotal course that highlighted the complexities involved in managing personnel. I learned about the importance of administering employee benefits, payroll systems, and handling sensitive employee information, all of which are vital for fostering a supportive workplace atmosphere. This knowledge emphasized that effective human resource management is key to retaining productive employees and maintaining organizational integrity.
Accounting played a critical role in my education as well, captivating my interest significantly. The class introduced me to the principles of accounting—how to meticulously track incoming and outgoing funds. Mastering the use of a general ledger alongside Excel software equipped me with practical skills that are necessary for managing a business's financial health. Understanding accounting is crucial; it empowers business leaders to make informed decisions based on accurate financial reporting.
The critical thinking course was transformative. It encouraged me to approach problems with a creative mindset, recognizing that innovative solutions often stem from unconventional thought processes. I learned that while individuals possess unique perspectives, identifying patterns is essential for developing strategic approaches to business challenges.
Furthermore, the data analysis course opened my eyes to the significance of data in contemporary business practices. In an era where decisions are increasingly data-driven, learning how to model data, inspect it, and glean actionable insights has immense value. This course emphasized that data can reveal trends and behaviors that may otherwise remain hidden, presenting opportunities for strategic initiatives.
Business management was equally impactful. The insights gained from this course equipped me with the skills necessary for both managerial roles and entrepreneurial ventures. I acquired knowledge about the responsibilities of leadership, the importance of decision-making, and the various factors influencing successful business operations. This education reinforced my capability to assume a leadership position in any business I join.
In conclusion, my educational journey through the business administration program has profoundly enriched my understanding of the business world. Each course has uniquely contributed to my skill set, preparing me to be an effective part of any business environment. As I continue my education and aim for a master’s in business administration, I am committed to constant learning and adaptation. I look forward to utilizing my knowledge and skills as I embark on a fulfilling career where I can make substantial contributions to the business community.
