This paper reflects on the significance of various courses undertaken during my nursing education and how each has contributed to my professional development, aligning with the BSN essentials. It discusses the core principles learned, their practical application during clinical experiences, and their influence on my growth as a competent, holistic, and patient-centered nurse.
Care Management I (Fundamentals of Nursing): This foundational course introduced me to essential nursing principles such as asepsis, medication administration, and patient comfort measures. These principles are integral to ensuring patient safety and promoting healing, directly relating to BSN Essential I (Liberal Education for Baccalaureate Generalist Nursing Practice) by emphasizing critical thinking and knowledge application. In clinical practice, I applied these skills through assisting patients with daily activities, maintaining sterile techniques, and understanding the importance of environment in recovery. This course also reinforced the importance of the nursing process (ADPIE), fostering my assessment, planning, and intervention skills critical for holistic patient care in accordance with BSN Essential IX (Baccalaureate Generalist Nursing Practice).
