Final three essays: I am incorporating your final exam/essay into the signature assignment. The following is the schedule and requirements for the final essays for the second half of the semester. Remember that the syllabus can change so pay close attention to in-class information and emails sent to your TSU email address. Final assignment is one essay in three parts. The Signature Assignment is required in all Freshman English classes.
The assignment asks students to explore and write about their future goals by researching the major field/fields that interest them, examining the skills they must develop in college to become expert practitioners. We have written thesis statements and summaries, positive and negative, concerning degree, field of interest and or career. I have asked you to take into consideration, race, numbers, social responsibility and to critically analyze your field. You may incorporate these concepts into your essay and you may even incorporate other thoughts that we have discussed in class into your essay. The essay must be a minimum of five pages and include three in-text citations.
The paragraphs can be longer than 5-7 sentences and can additionally include more than one paragraph to support your thesis claim. In other words, you may have more than three body paragraphs to support your three ideas that are included in the thesis. Specifically, the paper requires an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Part I: Includes your Introductory paragraph with a well-developed thesis statement, and the second paragraph of the essay. (Introduction and one body paragraph) Part I: Due November 7, 2018 Part II: Paragraphs three and four are due, and the Introductory paragraph and the second paragraph should be included with part II. (Two body paragraphs minimum) If you choose to write more than three body paragraphs make sure that you transition properly.
Part II: Due November 16, 2018 Part III: The conclusion is due, and includes paragraphs one, two, three, and four from above. (Conclusive paragraph) Part III: Due November 23, 2018 Total pages are six when the Works Cited page is included. It is possible that your initial paragraphs may have been returned to you before the other parts of the essays are due. If that is the case, make the corrections and include the corrected partial essay with parts II and parts III. Regardless, include the previous part I and or part II.
