Choose one of the following two projects to complete: a persuasion-focused analysis of a recent persuasive encounter you experienced, or a conflict-focused analysis of a recent personal conflict. Your paper should be 10-12 pages, well-organized, formatted according to APA guidelines, and supported by 4-6 credible sources.
Paper For Above instruction
Persuasion Focus
Analyze a recent persuasive encounter you have directly experienced, not one described secondhand. Provide a narrative detailing what led to the encounter, the main issue involved, the individuals involved, their relationships, and the perceived power dynamics. Explore how others affected the situation and how those factors influenced your approach. Reflect on why this encounter merits analysis and what insights can be gained from examining it.
In the second section, connect this encounter to relevant persuasion theories such as ethos, pathos, logos, identification, or cultural influences. Incorporate explanations from course readings and additional credible sources. Next, evaluate the interaction using techniques like negotiation methods, BATNA, or negotiation jujitsu, supported by academic references. Discuss how conflict influenced the persuasion process, referencing conflict terminology, including communication phases, conflict cycles, and conflict climates. Finally, summarize your overall learning and future application plans, addressing how your perspectives have changed, what has remained consistent, and your outlook on lifelong learning in conflict and persuasion management.
Conflict Focus
Analyze a recent, within the last 12 months, personal conflict through a narrative that details the main issue, the triggering event, involved parties, their relationships, and perceived power dynamics. Address how others were affected and your emotional response, linking these feelings to conflict theories such as psychodynamic, attribution, uncertainty, social exchange, or systems theory. The second section should connect your experience to these theories, supported by scholarly sources.
Subsequently, apply course techniques such as communication patterns, conflict cycles, conflict climates, negotiation methods, BATNA, negotiation jujitsu, and reconciliation, citing academic references. The next section examines how persuasion influenced the conflict or resolution, using concepts like ethos, pathos, logos, identification, or cultural influences. Conclude with a reflection on your learning, how your views on conflict and persuasion have evolved, and your plans for ongoing development in these areas.
Your paper should be comprehensive, approximately 10-12 pages, formatted per APA guidelines, and include citations from 4-6 credible sources beyond assigned texts.
