Go to the Securities and Exchange Commission’s EDGAR database and access your chosen company’s most recent Form 10-K (annual report). Create an Excel workbook with the following tabs and data:
The first tab, labeled "Company Information," should include the company name and ticker symbol, industry, products or services offered, and major competitors.
The second tab, labeled "Historical Income Statements," should include data for the latest three years based on SEC filings, with headers indicating the company name, financial statement name (Income Statements), financial statement dates, and denomination level (e.g., dollars in millions or thousands).
The third tab, labeled "Historical Balance Sheets," should also include data for the latest three years (or two if only two are available), with similar headers and a partial balance sheet example as a guide. Ensure the balance sheets include liabilities and stockholders’ equity.
The fourth tab, labeled "Historical Statement of Cash Flows," should include the latest three years, ensuring that net income from the income statement matches net income on the cash flow statement, and ending cash balances match those on the balance sheet. The headers should be consistent with the other sheets.
All worksheets must be professionally formatted, with consistent number formatting, dollar signs, and clear, bolded/indented line descriptions for readability. Subtotals and totals should be calculated with formulas, with totals underlined appropriately. Remove extraneous information and ensure data accuracy and presentation clarity.
This Excel workbook will be checked for originality via Turnitin.
