2. Scenario Outline Four Dragons Hotel Services Company Limited (“Four Dragons”) is a large hotel chain in the U.S.A. Four Dragons have a strategy of developing a hotel line in Hong Kong but their senior personnel have no experience in Hong Kong hotel design & construction. The Board of Four Dragons (“the Client”) intends to open two hotels located in Kowloon District and New Territories District respectively. These hotels consist of: ï‚· 27-storey of hotel rooms. ï‚· 1 level of 3.5m high basement. ï‚· Save energy building services installation. ï‚· Good appearance facades.

3. Tasks Assume that you have been appointed as the design and construction consultant to the Client. Your role is to produce a comprehensive and exhaustive development proposal to the Client describing the current construction methods & design and advising on the most appropriate construction method for the above development project. The development proposal should include: 1. Analyse the key construction issues that Client has to consider in selecting an appropriate foundation system for the hotel construction.
