My goal is to get inside the person and convey that empathy in my report. (Note: I will look up the definition of empathy). In this assignment, I will explore the life of a person living in a major city within a developing country by selecting and reading a biography that details their personal experiences and struggles. After obtaining approval for my chosen book, I will immerse myself in the narrative to understand the individual's circumstances, culture, and environment, aiming to develop a sense of empathy—a deep, emotional understanding of their life (Ellingson, 2018).

The purpose of this project is not merely to recount facts but to internalize the person's journey, experiencing their joys, fears, hopes, and hardships from an intimate perspective. This approach allows me to bridge the gap between observer and participant, fostering a genuine connection that motivates my writing. To strengthen this empathetic connection, I will define and reflect on empathy before beginning the assignment, ensuring I understand its nuances and importance in storytelling (Decety & Lamm, 2006).

Following approval and in-depth engagement with the book, I will write a three-page report published in the first person, creating the illusion that I am the individual whose story I am recounting. This narrative voice will enable me to convey personal insights and emotional depth, making the story more compelling and authentic. The report will include the title of the book, the country and city where the individual resides, and the character's name, providing essential contextual information.

Throughout the writing process, I will pay close attention to the cultural and environmental factors shaping the person's life. Elements such as socio-economic conditions, community dynamics, familial relationships, and personal aspirations will be woven into the narrative, highlighting the resilience and humanity of the individual despite challenges (Nussbaum, 2010).
