Paper For Above instruction
In this assignment, students are tasked with two primary components: first, completing specific exercises in WileyPlus, and second, writing a reflective essay analyzing an ethics case related to accounting practices. The initial part involves accessing the WileyPlus platform via the Course Home tab and completing the designated exercises—Exercise 23-3, Exercise 23-8, and Exercise 23-14. These exercises require students to apply accounting principles, and immediate feedback is provided to facilitate learning. The purpose of this section is to ensure students practice and demonstrate their understanding of the core concepts covered in these exercises.
The second part of the assignment shifts focus to ethical analysis. Students are required to write a two-page reflective essay responding to a detailed ethics case involving an accountant tasked with preparing sales and income projections for their company’s president. The case involves a dilemma where the accountant discovers a significant miscalculation that has led to overstated company projections, just prior to the president’s series of speeches intended to boost stock prices. The essay must thoroughly address the following questions: the consequences of disclosing or not disclosing the miscalculations; the ethical considerations for both the accountant and the president; and the relevant principles from professional codes of conduct guiding ethical behavior in accounting.
The essay should identify the specific code of conduct from a reputable professional organization (such as the American Institute of CPAs) and cite the relevant principle(s). Students must describe a step-by-step process for acting ethically, aligned with the chosen code of conduct, to resolve the dilemma appropriately. The paper must be well-organized, clearly articulated, and adhere to APA format for citations, including a separate title page and references page. Proper grammar, style, and mechanics are essential, and the essay should be approximately two pages long, excluding the title and references pages.
