This paper explores the multifaceted role of nurses in disaster management, evaluates community preparedness plans, and provides practical educational tools to enhance individual and community resilience.

Nurses' roles in disaster management span across the four core phases: planning, preparedness, response, and recovery. During planning, nurses contribute to developing emergency protocols, assessing community vulnerabilities, and advocating for resource allocation. In the preparedness phase, they engage in community education, training exercises, and personal readiness initiatives. During response, nurses deliver critical care, triage, and coordinate with emergency responders to ensure efficient patient transfer and treatment.   • Mass Casualty Situations: In incidents like major car accidents or active shooter events, prioritize personal safety, call emergency services, and provide first aid if capable until professional responders arrive.
