In This Project You Will Demonstrate Your Mastery Of The Following Co
In this project, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following competencies: use common practices to recruit diverse talent, recommend policies and practices to promote employee retention and motivation. You are an HR specialist for a company that manufactures shoes. Recently, you noticed an increase in turnover, especially among newly hired production associates working less than 60 days. You have designed an exit survey for those who recently resigned and received 100 responses. Based on this feedback, you are asked to recommend changes to the recruiting and selection process, and ensure the organization attracts talent from a diverse pool of candidates.
The Production Associate position has not historically attracted talent from diverse backgrounds. The role involves training on equipment, measuring tools, and some roles are performed seated despite long standing periods. Employees rotate stations every four hours. The company focuses on crafting lightweight shoes, with a maximum lifting weight of 25 pounds. Training is provided for advancement to higher roles. Using this information, along with exit survey results, you will update the job description to address both turnover concerns and the attraction of diverse talent. You will also develop guidance for interview selection, onboarding, and orientation to retain and motivate new hires.
Building upon Milestone One data, you will create two interview questions to be used in screening candidates. For each question, you will explain how it helps determine a suitable match. Additionally, draft a memo to the department manager addressing reasons for turnover, new onboarding and orientation steps, responsible parties, and how these changes promote retention and motivation.
Paper For Above instruction
To effectively address the turnover issues and improve organizational practices, a comprehensive analysis and strategic revision of recruiting, onboarding, and retention policies are required. This paper begins with an analysis of the exit interview data, identifying key reasons for employee turnover, followed by visual representation through a graph to specify problem areas. It then proceeds to review and edit the job description to attract a broader, more diverse applicant pool and mitigate identified turnover causes. The development of a targeted job advertisement emphasizes inclusive language and positive role portrayals to appeal to diverse candidates. For the selection process, two interview questions are proposed, with detailed explanations of how each question evaluates candidates' compatibility with the role and organizational culture. Lastly, the memo summarizes the current challenges with the existing onboarding and orientation procedures and proposes new, actionable steps along with delegation responsibilities. These steps are designed to enhance employee retention and motivation by creating an engaging, supportive onboarding experience, thereby addressing the root causes of early turnover and fostering a more inclusive, motivated workforce.
