The issue I examined in my Session Long Project is the integration of technology in early childhood education, a topic that has gained significant prominence due to the rapid advancement of digital tools and the shifts prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic. As technology becomes increasingly embedded in educational settings, understanding its effects on young learners, educators, and overall instructional quality is crucial. My literature review explored the benefits, challenges, and best practices associated with integrating technology into early childhood classrooms. I focused on research that examines how digital tools can support developmental learning, engagement, and social interaction, as well as concerns related to screen time and equitable access.
This issue is highly relevant given the ongoing debates about the appropriate use of technology in early education and the lack of clear guidelines for effective implementation.
