The evolving role of the master's prepared nurse as a leader is pivotal in shaping the future of healthcare. These professionals are instrumental in fostering clinical excellence, advocating for patient-centered care, and influencing healthcare policy. The purpose of this assignment is to reflect critically on personal leadership experiences, identify preferred leadership styles, evaluate core nursing leadership competencies, and develop strategies for professional growth.

My personal leadership journey has involved various formal and informal roles, including charge nurse and team mentor. In these roles, I have strived to demonstrate effective communication, delegation, and advocacy. Reflecting on my leadership effectiveness, I recognize strengths in building team cohesion and advocating for patient safety. However, I also acknowledge areas for improvement, such as optimizing time management and conflict resolution skills. Overall, I feel fairly comfortable serving in leadership roles, but I am aware of the continuous effort required to develop into a proficient leader.

My leadership style aligns most closely with transformational leadership. This style emphasizes inspiring and motivating team members, fostering innovation, and supporting staff development. I selected transformational leadership because of its focus on empowering others and creating a vision for shared success.
