One common challenge within interprofessional collaboration is communication breakdown. Misunderstandings, lack of clear information exchange, and differing communication styles can create barriers. Additionally, professional hierarchies and roles sometimes foster misunderstandings and impede open dialogue, leading to a lack of trust and cooperation (Reeves et al., 2017). Differences in perspectives, knowledge bases, and clinical priorities among team members can further complicate collaborative efforts. Time constraints and workload pressures also restrict meaningful interactions, reducing opportunities for cohesive teamwork (Oandasan & Reeves, 2005).
