Instructions and Rubric Based upon class discussions, assigned readings and reputable resources, agency information you will be developing a program evaluation plan based upon your work in your field placement setting. Your research question should consider some aspect of client satisfaction. You are not expected to collect the information you are discussing. Your work should reflect a basic understanding of (1) selecting questions for research purposes, (2) making sure your measurements are clearly linked to your research question (3) approaches used to collect data (4) the challenges in data collection and (5) the importance of disseminating the results of assessments. This assignment is worth 100 points.

Your answers must be addressed in FULL. The paper should include the following sections: Section I-IV should be at least 4-5 pages (Worth 30 points)

I: Provide the Name and Mission of your agency

III: What type of activities are you engaged in at your field placement? Who are the people that you serve? (ex. Adolescent mothers, older adults). What are some of the challenges that you face providing services for your clients/organization? What are some of the challenges your clients face? (This section should be at least 2 pages)

Describe your specific roles and responsibilities within the program, including any activities or interventions you participate in. Specify the demographic characteristics of the population served, such as age, gender, cultural background, or other relevant factors. Discuss the challenges you encounter while delivering services, such as resource limitations, cultural barriers, or organizational constraints, as well as issues faced by your clients, such as access, stigma, or other social determinants. This comprehensive reflection helps contextualize your evaluation planning.

IV: Identify a specific research question pertaining to the program you are working with at the agency. Note: The question should reflect an assessment of the program overall and not an individual.

Develop a clear, focused research question that addresses an aspect of program effectiveness, client satisfaction, or other relevant metric. Ensure that the question aligns with the overall goals of your evaluation and is feasible within your scope. This question guides your entire program evaluation design, focusing your data collection and analysis efforts.

V: Background Information on your Program Evaluation Plan: See below A-C (15 points)

Provide background on the intent and scope of your evaluation. Address the following:

  • What are the goals of the program evaluation?
  • What are the performance issues driving the evaluation?
  • Who are the critical partners, sponsors, and stakeholders involved?
  • What are the desired results or outcomes of the evaluation?
  • What outputs or products are expected from the evaluation?

This section sets the foundation for your evaluation plan, clarifying purpose, stakeholders, and expected deliverables.

VI: Data Collection Form and Rationale (See form below) (10 points)

Construct a table with at least three evaluation questions aligned with your overall research question. For each question, provide an explanation of how it will generate relevant data. The rationale should articulate how each question supports your needs assessment and connects to evaluation goals.

  • Right column: Provide a rationale explaining how data from each question will inform your assessment.

VIII: Scheduling and Constraints (5 points)

Develop a simple schedule with dates, tasks, responsible persons, and expected outputs for the data collection and analysis phases. Also, identify potential constraints or challenges that may impede your evaluation plan, with a brief description of each.

Address how collected data can inform program improvements, influence stakeholders, and support organizational or policy decisions.
