1. How did you come to work in this industry? Why are you interested in health care? Being a Combat Arms Disabled Veteran with multiple injuries, I started to look into a less physical and more mentally demanding job that IT provided for me. I became interested in health care because I wanted to give something back to the veterans and ensure they receive the best OIT support that the medical staff needs.

2. What skills and experience do you consider to be the most crucial for an IT manager in the health care industry? As an IT Manager, one needs to provide excellent time management to fulfill projects in a timely manner. People skills are also important for effective communication with all departments. Assertiveness is necessary to instill confidence in upper management and the IT team and to fulfill requests submitted by staff and departments.

3. How do you ensure your organization is keeping up with the continual advances in medical technology and other technological trends? I ensure that we stay updated by researching technical references and providing training to the IT staff on emerging technology.

4. What do you do when trying to solve a problem and you are confronted with contradictory information? Depending on the situation, I will consult the point of contact and assess the situation according to the guidance given.

5. How do you implement significant improvements and changes to an IT infrastructure? Being budget-minded, I assess the most crucial aspects of the IT infrastructure of the facility. I prioritize the necessary improvements and changes around that focused entity.
