Introduction: The Startup Wars simulations is an online platform that allows you to run a startup business in a fun and interesting way. It offers the experience of learning by doing and gives you the opportunity to see how everything fits together.

1. You will familiarize yourself with the platform as soon as possible in order to determine how to proceed.

2. Then you will choose ONE among the five available startups: t-shirt company, food truck, mobile app, vertical farming, and makers market.

3. Since you are your chosen startup’s founder, you will try to get the funding, the product(s), the clients, and the business off the ground (this is a great way to learn and sharpen valuable entrepreneurial skills without losing real money).

4. From October 17 through November 24, you will get as many attempts to play with your startup as needed.

Startup Goals:

A. Goals: You will work to complete all 3 goals included in your startup.

B. Grading: Your performance will be graded as follows: 100 points if you achieve the 3 goals; 67 points if you achieve 2 goals; 33 points if you achieve 1 goal; and 10 points if you work on the simulation but do not reach any of its goals. Please note that since participation is mandatory, the penalty for not doing a simulation will be a 5-point deduction from your final grade point average in the course, equivalent to a half a letter downgrade.
