Education in Nigeria predominantly faces challenges such as underfunding, outdated resources, and infrastructural deficiencies. Despite these limitations, Nigerian students possess brilliant minds and resourcefulness. The Nigerian education system places a strong emphasis on examination scores as a primary measure of success, often fostering a focus on test preparation rather than creative or critical thinking skills. Conversely, the American higher education system is characterized by better funding, extensive research opportunities, and a diverse range of academic programs. While tuition remains high, students generally find value for the money invested, as they enjoy access to state-of-the-art technology, laboratories, and research funding.
