Dear Team,
At our company, we continuously strive to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the financial software industry to serve our clients better and ensure the long-term success of our organization. Over the past few years, our focus has shifted significantly from catering primarily to large accounting firms with our flagship product, AccountSoft, towards expanding our offerings to small businesses and individual users. This strategic pivot reflects our commitment to growth and innovation, aligning with current market demands and growth opportunities.
As part of this transition, we have made the difficult decision to sell the AccountSoft product to Accounting Support Services, Inc. This decision came after careful analysis of sales performance and market trends, which indicated that our resources could be better utilized to develop new products tailored for small business and personal finance needs. Consequently, this sale will affect some of our valued employees, particularly within the AccountSoft division. To ensure a smooth transition, we have worked closely with Accounting Support Services to facilitate the transfer of our software developers to their organization. However, the sales and marketing teams, comprising approximately 150 employees, will be leaving the company, with their roles concluding by March 31, 2024.
We recognize that change brings uncertainty, and while we regret that these circumstances impact our colleagues, I want to clearly communicate that only about 2% of our entire workforce will be affected by these layoffs, and this will primarily impact the sales and marketing staff mentioned above. Our remaining team members will continue to be a vital part of our evolving company, and we are confident that this strategic shift positions us for a stronger future. In the coming weeks, I will personally meet with those impacted to discuss transition support and answer any questions you may have. Our goal is to support all our employees through this period with empathy and respect.
Looking ahead, I remain optimistic about our company's future. We are committed to fostering innovation, growth, and stability for all our employees. Please be assured that leadership is dedicated to facilitating a positive transition, and we value each of your contributions. We are confident that these changes will lead to new opportunities and a more sustainable path forward for our organization. Thank you for your dedication, understanding, and commitment during this time of transformation.
