Components of an Effective Plan
There are four components to consider when selecting how you will develop your new skills:
- Development Method: Identify how the skill will be developed. Common methods include:
- Continuing education
- Mentoring
- Coaching (working with a supportive and skilled coach)
- Expected results once skilled or knowledgeable
- The reasons for achieving this goal and perceived benefits for yourself and others
- What do you need to support your goal?
- Who do you need assistance from?
- What are your concerns?
- What barriers do you anticipate?
- How can others help you overcome these barriers?
