Understanding the complex relationships between environmental problems, humans, other organisms, and the broader environment is crucial for developing effective solutions. In this paper, I will identify three specific environmental science problems, analyze their impacts on humans, other organisms, and the environment, and support my discussion with credible scientific sources.
Problem 1: Climate Change
Climate change, primarily driven by greenhouse gas emissions from human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation, represents a significant threat to global ecosystems and societies. To humans, climate change results in increased incidences of extreme weather events like hurricanes, droughts, and heatwaves, which can lead to loss of life, economic instability, and health issues (NASA, 2022). For other organisms, the rapid shifts in temperature, altered precipitation patterns, and rising sea levels threaten habitats and biodiversity; many species face extinction if they cannot adapt quickly (Doney et al., 2012). Problem 2: Plastic Pollution

Other organisms, including marine life such as fish, turtles, and seabirds, ingest or become entangled in plastic debris, leading to injury, starvation, and death (Derraik, 2002). The broader environment suffers as plastic materials break down into microplastics that persist for hundreds of years, contaminating water bodies and soils, disrupting natural processes (Andrady, 2011).

Problem 3: Deforestation
Deforestation, mainly caused by agriculture, logging, and urban expansion, significantly alters landscapes and ecosystems.
