Question 1
Taking a different route to class can bring about various changes, both minor and significant. For instance, leaving earlier may be necessary to arrive on time, and one might meet different people or see new sights along the way. Such a change can also influence the experience on a day like the final exam, possibly causing stress or providing a refreshing perspective. Overall, this small adjustment can have positive effects, such as increased exploration and variation in daily routines, but it might also lead to negative consequences like being late or feeling disorganized. This situation mirrors how staff nurses might feel when administrators implement what they perceive as "minor" changes—they can disrupt routines but may ultimately lead to improvements when managed carefully (Gibbons & Maben, 2014).
Question 2
A significant change in my life was moving to a new city for a job opportunity. Initially, I react with uncertainty and anxiety because I was unfamiliar with my new environment and the social dynamics. With more information—such as understanding local customs, discovering support networks, and gathering details about my new role—I would have felt more prepared and less overwhelmed. Using Lewin’s model, I experienced the unfreezing stage as I recognized the need for change, followed by the change stage as I adapted to my new surroundings, and finally the refreezing stage as I established routines and felt more comfortable in my new life (Lewin, 1951; Burnes, 2017).
