Patients are now more empowered and informed, expecting transparency and accessible information, which encourages healthcare providers to engage in marketing activities (Hall & Heneghan, 2019). Economic pressures and rising competition among healthcare organizations also compel providers to market their services actively to attract and retain patients.
In conclusion, healthcare marketing functions as a vital tool for navigation and communication within a complex, regulated, and ethically sensitive environment. Its evolution from a neglected aspect to a strategic necessity reflects broader societal changes, technological advancements, and the drive for competitive differentiation.
