Prepare A Report To Address All Aspects Of The Assignment This Repor
Prepare a report to address all aspects of the assignment. This report should be no less than 10-15 pages of content. You need to include outside sources and properly cite and reference your sources. You must have at least 10 references, 5 of which must be scholarly peer-reviewed articles. In addition to the 10-15 pages of content, you will want a title page and a reference sheet.
This report needs to be in proper APA format. Your team has been asked to create a disaster recovery plan (DRP) for an organization that the group selects. Because extensive research is required, please make sure to select a real organization. The group will focus on a retail company with sales, regions, territories, credit card transactions, and eCommerce. The organization may have a manufacturing component to build certain products.
Ensure to cover the systems, resources, and databases used by the organization. You will need to use an example database to outline customer, transactional, and employee data. All application and database servers are stored onsite at the location.
Develop the project charter for the initiative, using the template provided in the folder. Research disaster recovery planning in the relevant area before you start, reviewing DRP templates to ensure comprehensive coverage. Each group will create a unique document for the selected organization, including:
- Introduction: Include the name, background, business model, revenue streams, vendors, suppliers, and market of the organization.
- Background: Identify potential disasters that could impact the organization, the locations of employees and facilities, and include an infrastructure diagram created with MS Visio, covering hardware, databases, software, and client/server components.
- Database: Use SQL Server Professional or Express (2016 or 2017). Utilize the Adventure Works database as an example to outline customer, transactional, and employee data relevant to the DRP.
- Determination of allowable downtime, roles, and responsibilities.
- Create a comprehensive communication management plan with sufficient detail.
- Develop a Business Impact Analysis, possibly using Excel for data and importing into the report. Construct a risk register to identify potential risks.
- Discuss trigger events for disaster scenarios.
- Outline actions during an emergency, discussing cold, warm, and hot site options with SLAs and contracts.
- Address handling of sensitive information and the plan’s testing procedures.
- Evaluate disaster recovery software options.
- Include training requirements for key employees and departments, listing team members, resources, certifications, and locations.
- Estimate budget and costs associated with the DRP.
- Describe how top management will be involved in development and testing of the plan.
- Develop a Business Continuity Plan detailing steps during, after, and before a disaster.
- Propose strategies for business resumption and recovery, including continuity of operations.
- Create a project plan for maintaining operational continuity during a disaster.
- Discuss system access, communication, and customer access during disruptions.
- Conclude with final assessments and summarization.
