My initial experience with the literature search process has involved identifying appropriate databases and honing search strategies to locate current, relevant, and credible sources. Utilizing the Walden University Library resources has been fundamental in this process, given its tailored access to scholarly journals and specialized databases aligned with healthcare and nursing disciplines.
One of the key strategies I employed was defining clear search parameters, including keywords directly related to my critical question and filters to ensure publication within the last five years. For example, I used Boolean operators such as AND, OR, and NOT to refine my searches. The Walden Library’s advanced search tools facilitated this process, allowing me to limit results by publication date, peer-reviewed status, and subject area.
