Project Proposal Team E Project Management/ CPMGT-300 November 2, 2020 Professor JoDal VanNoy Dr. Gary Saxena Project Proposal For this project to run smoothly, it requires detailed planning. This entails the project team stays on budget, timelines are being met, and deliverables are being provided to managers. For our proposal, we have chosen to relocate ABC's IT Department to a new location. This expansion will allow the company to hire more employees, drive higher customer satisfaction internally and externally, and increase revenue for the company.

Our proposal will identify stakeholders and how they will benefit, project overview, resource requirements, project team, and project sponsorship and leadership. Identifying Stakeholders The stakeholders are the project team, ABC’s Executives and managers, employees, and contractors that are supplying materials. Management benefits by the contractors providing a smooth move and set-up at the new location. The expansion of employees will allow the department to address IT concerns more quickly. Customers internally and externally will benefit because it will increase revenue for the company.

Project Overview The mission and objective are to expand the IT Department to ramp up for the surge of online product orders from customers. To increase staffing to support the increase and meet customer demands. Resources After identifying the new space we’ll need a full team to execute the move and expansion. The move will require full support from our project team. Leaders must work to ensure projects get the support and resources to complete the project (Cobb, 2012).

The project team will consist of a Project Manager who will be the colleague responsible for the review of the overall project and the planning calls as well as budget calls through the project. The Project manager will also be responsible for communicating/negotiating with all of the stakeholders. The Operations Manager will be the logistics main point of contact. The Operations Manager will be responsible to oversee the move process, for making sure standard operating procedures are followed and will work directly with the moving team to ensure things are going smoothly during the move. Our IT department is critical so the Operations Manager will monitor timelines and deliverables for the move.

The project will also require an Account Manager who will be responsible for managing the budget, working with our contracted vendor accounts, contracts, and funding. The Account Manager will communicate the budget and IT department move-related costs associated with the project to the project team and keep us on track with our estimated timelines and deliverables. In addition to the core team, additional resources will be required such as a facilities manager, a moving team and/or company, an IT manager, an equipment support specialist (who can assist with the ordering of additional equipment needs), and an installation team who can assemble all of the existing and new IT equipment for a successful transition into the new location.
