Quadrilateral story Write a one-paged, single spaced, story (using normal 11 point font or less) where YOU are the main character. Setting: Pretend you are a quadrilateral (parallelogram, rectangle, rhombus, square, kite, trapezoid, or isosceles trapezoid). Write a quad story describing yourself (the characteristics that make you a quad as well as your own personality traits) and how you are related to your cousin (pick a different quadrilateral that we studied. Describe HOW you are related (characteristics you share) and what makes you different from each other (characteristics that make you unique). Make sure ybe creative and use all the properties that relate to each shape you choose.

Once upon a time, I found myself in a world made entirely of shapes. As a square, I am proud of my four equal sides and four right angles. I am very organized and dependable, always maintaining perfect symmetry in everything I do. My sides are equal, and my angles are all 90 degrees, which makes me very stable and balanced. I enjoy routines and order, and I thrive in environments where everything is predictable and just right. People often say I am a perfectionist because of my precise sides and right angles. My personality mirrors my shape—firm, reliable, and consistent.
My cousin, the rhombus, is a different kind of quadrilateral but still shares some qualities with me. Like me, he has four sides, but his sides are all equal in length, and his angles are oblique—meaning they are not right angles. The rhombus is more flexible and dynamic than me, with diagonals that bisect each other at angles, creating a shape that is both symmetrical and slanted. Unlike me, who prefers everything to be neat and perpendicular, my cousin enjoys a touch of diagonality and asymmetry, which makes him more adaptable and creative.
While I am a square, embodying stability and predictability, my cousin the rhombus is more versatile and expressive, showing that two different quadrilaterals can share properties like four sides but differ in angles and diagonals. Our relationship highlights how shape properties influence not only our physical structure but also our personalities—me being dependable and structured, and him being flexible and unique. We both have four sides, but our angles and diagonals tell our story, reflecting our differences and similarities in a fascinating geometric friendship.
The differences in our shapes symbolize how diversity exists within common features. I take pride in my right angles and equal sides, representing stability and consistency, qualities valued in my community. My cousin, with his slanted sides and diagonal diagonals, demonstrates that even within a shared group, each shape and person can have their own special traits that make them exceptional. Our familial bond is a perfect example of how shared characteristics like having four sides can result in diverse and interesting personalities, each with their own strengths.
Being a square has made me appreciate the value of structure and discipline, but witnessing my cousin’s unique form has taught me to embrace flexibility and creativity. Together, we are a testament to the beauty in variety within the universe of quadrilaterals, reminding everyone that differences can be strengths when appreciated and understood.
