For instance, PET bottles, used widely in beverages, are processed differently from PVC containers used for food products. This categorization facilitates efficient sorting and recycling, ensuring that plastics are directed to appropriate processing facilities.

Once sorted, plastics are transported to recycling factories, where they undergo a series of processing stages. The first step involves crushing plastics into smaller pieces or flakes to ease handling and processing. These flakes are then washed thoroughly to remove impurities such as labels, adhesives, and residual contaminants. Subsequently, the cleaned plastics are dried and prepared for further transformation. This crucial phase ensures that recycled plastics meet quality standards necessary for manufacturing new products.

The processed plastic flakes are then dispatched to specialized factories based on their type and quality.
