These changes reflect not only the adaptation of language to suit digital mediums but also reveal broader cultural shifts driven by technological advancements.

One of the primary changes is the emergence of abbreviations and acronyms, such as "LOL," "BRB," and "TL;DR," which serve to facilitate quicker communication (Tagliamonte & Denis, 2014). These linguistic shortcuts have become embedded in everyday language, affecting written and spoken communication (Crystal, 2011). The benefits of such linguistic simplifications include increased efficiency and immediacy, which are crucial in fast-paced digital interactions. However, critics argue that overreliance on abbreviations can undermine language skills and impede the development of more complex language skills, especially among young users (Baron, 2008).
