Select a topic related to U.S. or Texas government that involves an issue with debate; it must have both sides and be controversial. Examples include the death penalty, gun control, or the Electoral College. Your paper should present both arguments, explain why each side believes as it does, and then state your position on the issue.

The paper must be at least three pages, double-spaced, with a cover sheet including the paper's title, your name, course name and section, professor's name, and date. The title should be centered at the top, and page numbers should be in the top right corner of each page, with part of the title or the full title preceding the page number.
