For FreshMarket, I initially identified five keywords relevant to its product offerings and target audience: “organic groceries,” “health food store,” “gluten-free products,” “vegan snacks,” and “local produce.” Using Google's search engine, I investigated where the company's website ranked for each keyword:

  • Organic groceries: The website ranks on the second page—position 12.
  • Health food store: The website appears on the first page, position 8.
  • Gluten-free products: The site is on the third page, position 35.
  • Vegan snacks: Not on the first three pages; the ranking is beyond position 50.
  • Local produce: The website ranks on the first page, position 4.

From this analysis, it is evident that FreshMarket performs relatively well for some keywords, such as “health food store” and “local produce,” but has room for improvement in others, especially “organic groceries,” “gluten-free products,” and “vegan snacks.” Enhancing rankings for these keywords could increase organic traffic and market reach.

Identifying Additional Keywords

Next, I utilized free keyword tools such as Ubersuggest and Google Keyword Planner to find additional keyword opportunities. Three promising keywords include:

  1. Plant-based diet: A growing trend among health-conscious consumers, this keyword can attract a new segment interested in plant-based nutrition.
  2. Sustainable groceries: Emphasizing environmental responsibility aligns with the company’s organic ethos and appeals to eco-aware shoppers.

Incorporating New Keywords into the Website

To effectively leverage these additional keywords, FreshMarket should integrate them into relevant website sections:
