For my assignment, I chose to explore the topic of mental health, specifically focusing on the objective of increasing access to mental health services among young adults aged 18 to 25. The targeted population for my brochure will be college students and young adults in urban settings, as this group often experiences barriers to mental health care, including stigma and limited resources.
Healthy People 2030 emphasizes improving mental health as a priority, with a focus on increasing access to quality mental health services, reducing the prevalence of mental health disorders, and addressing social determinants that affect mental health outcomes. The objective I selected aims to ensure that more young adults can access mental health care that is culturally competent and readily available. This supports broader efforts to promote mental well-being, reduce suicide rates, and enhance overall quality of life among young populations.
My choice is driven by the increasing prevalence of mental health issues among young adults, particularly in the context of academic pressures, social media influences, and economic uncertainties.
