Start Exploringhistorybetween 1900 1909the Only Rule Is That You Can

Start exploring history between 1900 and 1909. The only rule is that you can't write about the US. You can research what was happening in the field that you are majoring in at that time (what were the major scientific discoveries at the turn of the century?); fashion trends (what would you be wearing, and who would be making those clothes in 1905?); culinary trends (could you get a hamburger in Mexico City in 1908?); communication advances (how long would it take to get a piece of news from Johannesburg to London in 1905?). We are curious about how you do your research. Did you google it? If so - what search term did you use? If you used a book - what book is it? Ideally, you'll try to write at least 150 words about something that happened, someplace or someone - or someone, someplace during something that happened (see what I did there?). Don't worry too much about the length, the point of this exercise is to get you to practice uploading assignments here, and start thinking about the past.

Paper For Above instruction

In the early 20th century, a period spanning from 1900 to 1909, significant advancements were made across various fields that shaped the modern world. Scientific discoveries at this time laid the groundwork for many technological innovations, including Albert Einstein's special theory of relativity in 1905, which revolutionized understanding of space and time. The radio, developed by Guglielmo Marconi, saw its first major commercial use in the early 1900s, transforming communication by allowing messages to be transmitted wirelessly over long distances. This period also witnessed fascinating social and cultural shifts; for example, fashion in 1905 was characterized by the Edwardian style for women, featuring high collars, long skirts, and elaborate hats, with clothes made by bespoke tailors and dressmakers in Europe. Culinary trends saw the rise of international cuisine, and while a traditional hamburger was not common in Mexico City at that time, street vendors and local eateries offered regional dishes that reflected the diverse culture. Communication advances, such as the telegraph and early telephone systems, meant that news from Johannesburg could reach London within hours, highlighting rapid technological progress. Researching these developments often involved consulting historical texts, such as "The Penguin History of the 20th Century" by J.M. Roberts, as well as digital archives and scholarly articles. For quick searches, I used terms like “history of communication technology 1905” or “fashion trends in Edwardian era.” This exploration not only broadens understanding of the past but also demonstrates the interconnectedness of technological, social, and cultural change during this dynamic decade.
