Spiritual Health
Spiritual health is defined as an individual's sense of purpose, connection to others, and alignment with personal beliefs that provide meaning to life. According to Puchalski and Ferrell (2010), spiritual health encompasses the pursuit of meaning and purpose, connectedness, and transcendence, which can promote resilience and peace. A historical highlight related to spiritual health that interests me is the rise of mindfulness and meditation practices in the 1970s across the United States, which emphasized inner peace and mental clarity. To improve my spiritual health, I can dedicate time daily for prayer or meditation to foster a sense of inner peace. Encouraging family and friends can involve sharing positive experiences related to mindfulness or supporting them in exploring spiritual practices.
