For this assignment, you will choose an organization to analyze. This organization can be one you are personally familiar with or have observed to be effective. As a newly appointed senior leader in that organization, you must prepare a report for the CEO that assesses the organization’s overall alignment between its vision, mission, values, and strategy. This report should consist of the following sections:

1. Analysis of the strategic cascade of the organization
Assess the organization’s strategy and market position using the framework implied in Michael Porter’s (1997) article “What is Strategy.” Describe the target market (target customer), the organization’s value proposition—how it delivers value that satisfies customer needs, and how the product or service is positioned in the market, including features, attributes, pricing, distribution, and marketing communication. Also, evaluate how the organization maintains a sustainable competitive advantage, identifying the sources of uniqueness and their durability against competitors.
2. SWOT analysis
Conduct a SWOT analysis to examine internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as external opportunities and threats, for the next five years. Consider internal factors such as advantages, unique resources, and areas for improvement. External factors include market trends, technological, social, regulatory changes, and competitive actions. Address questions like: What advantages does the organization have? What do you do better than others? What external trends could be advantageous or threatening?
3. Internal environment summary
Analyze the internal environment by examining the organization’s values and key elements that influence worker behavior, including structure, systems, and culture. Consider how roles, decision-making, information flows, and norms support or hinder strategic alignment. Discuss whether the organization’s structure facilitates strategy execution, how systems coordinate activities, and if the culture acts as an enabler or impediment to strategic goals.
4. Organizational ability to implement strategy using Kouzes and Posner’s Five Practices
Provide a synthesis evaluating the organization’s capacity for strategic implementation through the lens of Kouzes and Posner’s five practices: Modeling the Way, Inspiring a Shared Vision, Challenging the Process, Enabling Others to Act, and Encouraging the Heart. Discuss the organization’s culture, employee behaviors, and leadership actions. Describe how current values and behaviors support or conflict with strategy, and recommend specific leadership practices to foster new behaviors aligned with strategic objectives.
Your response should be approximately three pages per section, totaling about 10–12 pages. The final document should be well-organized, concise, and demonstrate scholarly research with 4–7 credible sources, correctly cited in APA format. Use clear language, proper spelling, grammar, and ensure the paper reflects ethical scholarship and analytical rigor.
